Elopement FAQs
Maine and Worldwide

  • It starts with place and purpose. I’ll guide you through the permitting process, ideal lighting times, trail access, and privacy considerations—whether it's Acadia, White Mountain National Forest, or beyond. My approach balances the logistical with the sacred, so your vows feel both grounded and expansive.

  • Yes. Elopement doesn’t mean alone! Most of my couples invite 2 to 15 of their closest people. Whether you're including parents, children, or chosen family, I’ll ensure the photo experience still centers on intimacy, connection, and flow.

  • Every elopement collection includes planning support, coverage of your ceremony, guided portraits, and quiet, unscripted in-between moments. You'll receive a curated gallery, optional heirloom albums, and support before, during, and after your day. Travel across New England is always included.

  • Absolutely. I offer location insight as part of your experience—from hidden beaches to private mountaintop overlooks. I’ll help you find a space that feels aligned with your vision, values, and comfort. Some couples know exactly where; others arrive through conversation—we’ll get there either way.

  • Yes. Weekday elopements (Monday–Thursday) are more flexible, often quieter, and sometimes discounted depending on season and location. They also offer better access to scenic spaces with fewer crowds; ideal for couples wanting intimacy above all.

  • Most couples book 6–12 months ahead, especially for peak seasons in Maine, New Hampshire, and coastal New England. Weekday elopements and off-season dates may be available on shorter notice. If you're drawn to a particular landscape or season, it's best to reach out early.

  • I offer more than photography, I offer guidance. From location scouting and permitting to light-mapping and timeline design, I help shape the flow of your day so it reflects your values, not just your visuals. Think of it as strategic presence and creative partnership.

  • While I’m rooted in Maine, I photograph elopements across New England and beyond. Whether you're exchanging vows in Vermont’s forests, New Hampshire’s mountains, or the California coast, I’ll meet you where your story belongs.

  • Most elopements are 3 to 6 hours, though I offer full-day and multi-day options for couples traveling or planning layered moments

  • Of course. Elopements aren't about what you remove, they're about what you intentionally include. We can build in quiet getting-ready time, a private first look, or even an intimate dinner celebration. The difference is that every moment is designed with care.

  • Weather in New England is moody—and I love it for that reason. I carry gear for fog, rain, wind, and snow, and will always work with you to create beauty in whatever conditions arrive. That said, I do offer flexible backup plans for truly unworkable weather or trail closures.

  • Yes. My husband, Jacob, is a licensed officiant and accompanies me to most elopements and intimate weddings. For couples seeking a seamless, trusted presence to both witness and document their vows, we offer the rare experience of shared energy, professionalism, and care; both behind the lens and at the altar. If you prefer someone else, I also work closely with inclusive, heart-centered officiants across New England and am happy to refer aligned partners.
