In fact, Kettle Cove is one of those places where a little imperfection makes everything better.

Windblown hair is welcome. Blankets are encouraged. Children can explore. Little ones can tuck themselves into Mom or Dad when the breeze comes through. We can walk the shoreline, climb onto a rock, race toward the water, cuddle together, or simply stop for a moment and watch the ocean.

I handle the direction, timing, composition, and flow so that you don't have to spend your session worrying about whether everyone is "doing it right."

Children are never expected to perform for my camera.

I work with their personalities, attention spans, curiosity, shyness, silliness, and energy rather than against them.

And on an October beach, movement isn't something we need to prevent.

Movement is part of the photograph.

20-Minute Coastal Maine Family Portrait Session

A relaxed, professionally guided family photography experience at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, surrounded by rocky shoreline, beach grasses, ocean, islands, and the beautifully unpredictable atmosphere of the Maine coast in October.

Your session is intentionally efficient while leaving room for genuine expression, movement, connection, beautiful traditional portraits, and all of the tiny unscripted moments that happen in between.

35+ Finalized Digital Images

Your session includes all finalized digital photographs from your experience, with a minimum of approximately 35 images, delivered through a private online gallery.

There is no need to sit down afterward and decide which five photographs of your family you're willing to leave behind.

If I photograph it, love it, and finalize it for your gallery, it's yours.

Your completed gallery will be delivered approximately 2–3 weeks following your session, making these October family portraits beautifully timed for holiday cards, seasonal gifts, albums, and artwork for your home.

October family photographs on the Maine coast are beautiful because everyone has permission to actually dress for October.

Rather than matching, think about building a wardrobe that feels collected.
