Golden orchard light. Autumn color. Children being children. And photographs of your family that will matter even more ten years from now than they do today.

Beaux & Arrows’ 2026 Fall Family Portrait Sessions at Rocky Ridge Orchard in Bowdoin, Maine are designed for families who want beautiful, natural, elevated photographs without turning family pictures into an exhausting production.

These limited fall family mini sessions combine the ease of a 20-minute portrait experience with the artistry, direction, and finished gallery you would expect from a full-service family photographer.

Designed for Parents. Loved by Children.

Family photographs do not need to feel stressful to look extraordinary.

I handle the planning, direction, timing, and flow of your session so that you can concentrate on being present with the people you love.

Children are never expected to perform for the camera. I work with their personalities, attention spans, curiosity, and energy rather than against them. We may walk, play, snuggle, explore the orchard, or take a moment to reset.

That freedom is often where the photographs parents love most begin.

Ten years from now, you will never wish you had fewer photographs of your children at this age.

This is twenty minutes devoted to preserving exactly who they are right now.

What’s Included in Your Fall Family Session

20-Minute Orchard Family Portrait Session

A relaxed, professionally guided family photography experience among the orchard and autumn landscape at Rocky Ridge Orchard in Auburn, ME.

Your session is intentionally efficient while still allowing space for genuine expressions, connection, movement, and beautiful traditional portraits.

35+ Finalized Digital Images

Your session includes all finalized digital photographs from your experience, with a minimum of approximately 35 images delivered through a private online gallery.

There is no need to choose only a handful of favorites from your family’s story.

Your completed gallery will be delivered approximately 2–3 weeks following your session.

A Complete Family Portrait Flow

Within our time together, I work efficiently to create as much variety as your family and children comfortably allow.

We generally prioritize:

  • The entire family together

  • Children together

  • Individual portraits of each child

  • Each child with each parent

  • Parents together

  • Natural interactions and movement

  • Candid photographs and small in-between moments

Every family is different, so your session is guided by the people in front of my camera rather than a rigid shot list.

Why 20 Minutes Is Perfect for Fall Family Photos

Twenty minutes is intentional.

For many children, particularly toddlers and younger children, it is the sweet spot between having enough time to create meaningful variety and stopping before family photographs begin to feel like work.

There is no expectation that your child remain perfectly still, smile continuously, or cooperate on command.

Instead, we move.

That keeps children engaged, gives parents less to manage, and allows me to create an extraordinary amount of variety in a surprisingly short period of time.

Families regularly tell me they cannot believe how much we accomplished in twenty minutes.

Want More Than a Mini Session?

If you are looking for more time, additional locations, wardrobe changes, greater creative variety, or a more expansive family photography experience, your session may be upgraded to a Client Favorite or Luxe Portrait Experience.

Please contact me before reserving your appointment, and I will help determine which experience best fits your family.

Fall Family Photos at Rocky Ridge Orchard in Bowdoin, Maine

There is a reason orchard family photography has become such a beloved New England tradition.

September and fall in Maine bring warm light, natural texture, orchard greens, changing foliage, rustic landscapes, and the rich neutral colors that photograph beautifully for both holiday cards and artwork displayed year-round.

Rocky Ridge Orchard provides a quintessential Maine backdrop without allowing the scenery to overpower the most important part of the photograph: your family.

The result is polished enough for the walls of your home and natural enough to still feel unmistakably like you.

What Should We Wear for Fall Family Photos?

You do not need matching outfits.

In fact, coordinated color, texture, and tone generally photograph far more beautifully than perfectly matching clothing.

Think rich neutrals, cream, camel, chocolate, navy, muted greens, warm earth tones, beautiful knits, natural fibers, subtle patterns, layered dresses, tailored trousers, boots, and pieces with texture and movement.

After booking, you will receive guidance to help prepare your family for your portrait experience.

The goal is not simply to choose attractive clothing. It is to create a family wardrobe that works together, complements the orchard environment, photographs beautifully, and ultimately looks intentional when displayed as artwork in your home.

Rebecca’s B|A Recommendations & Policies:

  • Should you want more time, to change outfits, or to accommodate a larger group of participants (5+), I recommend purchasing a minimum of TWO appointments.

  • Steer clear of fluorescent colors, bright patterns; think creamy, bold, and layered, textures!

  • I LOVE texture, I LOVE layers, and I LOVE jewelry and small details. Blankets are always nice to snuggle into/onto, and I find it utterly darling when littles bring their favorite stuffed toy, doll, or parallel. Otherwise, leave the “props” at home; my focus is targeted on connection, not trinkets or material things. I highly recommend wearing velvets, laces, knits, and rich colors.

  • All monies submitted are non-refundable. Time may be altered if availability allows, sessions may also be transferable: simply email info@beauxandarrows.com with any questions before purchasing. Should your appointment time need to be altered due to system errors or other, written notice will be promptly delivered and remedied as close to your original time as possible.

  • Please remember that this is a heavily visited and enjoyed tourist attraction location. There will be many other people, however you, and-yours, shall remain the focus of all imagery captured.

  • Rain-dates are presented under weather or health related obstacles that would either jeopardize child-tolerances or cause damage to equipment. Additionally, it is your responsibility to dress appropriately for the weather; cold noses make for unhappy faces and do NOT photograph well.

  • Your appointments are respected by NDA’s. No imagery will be used for marketing content without expressed consent.

  • The only photographer obligated to your appointment is the one designated within the mini session booking reservation: Rebecca Pinkham-Stevenson.

  • Appointments are scheduled & offered back-to-back. If you arrive late to your appointment, the time will be forfeited. If we are able to relocate your appointment or offer partial of your existing, we will work our hardest to do so but we are not obligated to do so.
